From Mountain Mel to The Herbalist's Path

Talking with Mason, I reflected on my early days, starting as "Mountain Mel." I founded Mountain Mel's an herbal products company, and it was an incredible experience seeing my products in stores like REI. But as I shared with Mason, the journey was filled with its fair share of ups and downs. Creating each product was a passion project, but managing a growing business was quite the challenge.

The Shift to Teaching and Connecting

I confessed to Mason that despite the success of my products, my heart was somewhere else – in teaching. It wasn't an immediate realization, but a crucial one. On the podcast, I explained how I found the balance between my innate callings and the direction my career was taking. That’s when I fully embraced The Herbalist's Path.

Apothecary Mommas and Medicine Making Mamas

On the Herb Rally podcast, I was excited to talk about "Apothecary Mommas." It’s a program I’m proud of, designed for moms looking to use natural remedies for family health. As Mason and I discussed, it’s set up like an encyclopedia, with lessons for a variety of common issues moms face.

We also delved into the challenges of introducing herbal remedies into everyday life, like dealing with the taste, which I address in my "Medicine Making Mommas" program.

The Importance of Herbalists in Every Home

During the podcast, I emphasized to Mason how every household can benefit from herbal knowledge. It's empowering to understand and use the plants around us. As I told him, it’s not just about reducing reliance on pharmaceuticals; it’s about empowering people with knowledge and independence.

Reflecting on the Journey

Chatting with Mason was a great opportunity to reflect on my journey from "Mountain Mel’s" to where I am now. It’s been an incredible path, showing the impact of following your passion in herbalism. It’s not just about business; it's about making a meaningful difference and staying true to yourself.

We wrapped up our conversation by emphasizing the importance of finding your niche in the herbal world. Whether it's making medicine or sharing knowledge, what really matters is how you contribute to the growth of herbal practices, enriching lives plant by plant.
